    General Authority for Customs: Launching a portfolio of projects worth four billion riyals​

    Majid bin Ali Al Hilal, General Supervisor of the General Administration for Operation and Maintenance, confirmed that the Authority is currently working on the implementation of a portfolio of projects worth 8 billion riyals between infrastructure and administrative buildings, residential and technical projects, and is preparing to launch a portfolio of projects worth 4 billion riyals In the period from 2019 to 2023, he pointed to the criteria followed by the Authority in choosing what he called the partners of future success, such as being a company registered legally and experienced in the implementation of similar projects and have the qualifications to meet the needs of the project as well as solvency Adequate health and safety requirements.

    This came during a workshop organized by the Chamber of Eastern Province on Sunday, 13 October 2019, and entitled (current and future customs projects), and moderated by a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Contracting Committee in the Chamber, Hamad bin Hamoud Al-Hammad, who in turn stressed the changes in the national economy, of great changes and openness He pointed out the serious steps taken by the Kingdom towards achieving its logistical position and enhancing its gains in line with the aspirations of vision 2030.​To be the first Kingdom in the world in the performance of logistics services and flow through it and world trade, thanking the General Authority of Customs for its efforts in stimulating the movement of the national economy, and the qualitative leap that contributed to the rise of the private sector and facilitate and facilitate its roles in the national economy in line with vision 2030.​

    He explained the workshop, which includes the themes that shed light on the map of future projects of the Saudi customs, and provides a detailed explanation of the customs regulations and standards and mechanisms for registration and qualification of contractors and how to purchase tenders electronically, but to achieve our economic objectives and enhance the levels of partnership between the public and private sectors, stressing that the partnership It contributes to increasing our economic gains by reaching a sophisticated and efficient customs system.

    Al-Hilal said that the General Authority of Customs is located in about 14 airports in the Kingdom, 11 ports and 15 land ports and that according to its current and future projects, it is teeming with investment contracts and opportunities for national companies. Reaching the Authority to achieve its objectives with regard to the model outlets;​​He pointed out that a package of incentives has been put in place for national companies that will deal with the Authority in setting up their projects, such as giving the client company an advance payment of up to 20% of the contract value without a higher ceiling, while allowing the increase in the contract value of up to 20% as well as the exchange of receivables within three weeks of its adoption.​​​

    Al Hilal reviewed before the attendance of entrepreneurs capital projects and facilities management of the Authority and how the Authority manages its relationship with suppliers, so that suppliers are aware of all the steps and paths needed to deal with the Authority in the implementation of its projects, pointing out that the mission of the Authority is a serious contribution to stimulate the national economy and enable the Kingdom is able to achieve its goals set by Vision 2030 to be a global logistics center through facilitating trade, achieving revenue, caring for the customer and protecting the country and society efficiently and effectively.​

    At the end of the meeting, Hamad bin Hamoud Al Hammad, member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Contracting Committee, presented a commemorative shield to HE the General Supervisor of the General Administration for Operation and Maintenance, Majid bin Ali Al Hilal.​
